The typical 15 days Everest Base Camp Trek in the Khumbu Region lets you explore the untethering beauty of Mt. Everest. Not only will you experience the beautiful base camp, but also explore natural flora and fauna alongside manmade landmarks, Sherpa culture and tradition that’s influenced by Tibet, and much more.
The Everest Base Camp Trek begins with a scenic flight to Lukla for an adventurous flight. During your 30 mins flight, you’ll get some of the best views of Everest and other peaks of the mountain range. Enjoy a day in Phakding located on the banks of Dudh Koshi before making it to Namche Bazaar, where we’ll stay for two days.
Before we get to Namche, our trail stops for a bit at Monjo, the entry point of the Sagarmatha National Park, to check our trekking permits. On our second day at Namche, we’ll visit a nearby village to explore its cultural values or if you want a break, we can also visit the marketplace there.
Onto the Everest Base Camp Trek, we’ll encounter prayer flags, chortens, and even one of the country’s oldest monasteries, the Tengboche Monastery. Acclimatize to the high altitude in Dingboche where we can either hike to Nagarjuna Hill to get amazing views of the peaks such as Makalu, Cho Oyu, and Ama Dablam, or explore the village of Chukhung.
Getting to Gorakshep is not much of a big deal but the next day is, as we summit the 5545 meters Kala Patthar, from where we’ll get the best views of Everest and hike all the way to EBC. Cherish the moment, and trek back to villages like Periche, Namche, and Lukla to fly back to Kathmandu and end our journey.

A wonderful serenity has taken possession of my entire soul, like these sweet mornings of spring which I enjoy with my whole heart. I am alone, and feel the charm of existence in this spot, which was created for the bliss of souls like mine. I am so happy, my dear friend, so absorbed in the exquisite sense of mere tranquil existence, that I neglect my talents. I should be incapable of drawing a single stroke at the present moment; and yet I feel that I never was a greater artist than now. When, while the lovely valley teems with vapour around me, and the meridian sun strikes the upper surface of the impenetrable foliage of my trees.
And but a few stray gleams steal into the inner sanctuary, I throw myself down among the tall grass by the trickling stream; and, as I lie close to the earth, a thousand unknown plants are noticed by me: when I hear the buzz of the little world among the stalks, and grow familiar with the countless indescribable forms of the insects and flies, then I feel the presence of the Almighty, who formed us in his own image, and the breath

The trek takes approximately 10 to 21 days, depending on your itinerary, pace, and acclimatization plan.
The best time to go on the trek is during the months of March to May and September to November when the weather is clear and the trails are less crowded.
The highest altitude reached during the trek is at the base camp, which is located at an altitude of 5,364 meters (17,598 feet).
While it is possible to trek independently, hiring a local guide or porter can enhance your experience and help with navigation, carrying your gear, and acclimatization.
I recently went on an Everest Base Camp Trek with Adventure Walkway and I have to say, it was an amazing experience! The guides were knowledgeable and friendly, the itinerary was well-planned, and the scenery was breathtaking. I would highly recommend this agency to anyone looking for an unforgettable adventure in Nepal.
